Is Rachel Weisz Jewish?

Yes, Rachel Weisz is a Jew. Her father's a Hungarian-born Jew and her mother is said to be "Catholic Viennese," but some accounts describe Rachel Weisz as having prominent Jewish ancestors on her mother's side as well.

She is quoted in Index magazine as having said, "I was advised by an American agent when I was about 19 to change my surname and I said. "Why? Jews run Hollywood." He said "Exactly." He had a theory that all the executives think acting's a job for shiksas."

    2. If you're trying to be provacitive--you're boring. If you're a self loathing Jew - you're pathetic. If you truly are a hater of the Jewish people then take a number. For some amazingly historical historical fact we have been a target for hatred. Yet we only make up a mere 2% of the world's population. So, do you want to remain a coward or would you like to meet and discuss your toxic views?

  5. She is possibly not halachically Jewish. Of course she is socially seen as a Jew. She has a maternal grandmother who is not Jewish, even though she has three full Jewish grandparents out of four. But it's the mother who determines If you are a Jew. That's where it counts. Rachael's mother has a Jewish father but she is not Jewish, and unless she went through a conversion before Rachael's conception, Rachael Weisz is not Jewish either under Jewish law. Some people may have three grandparents who are not Jewish but are Jewish through their maternal grandmother(Kate Hudson) while some people may not be Jewish(through maternal grandmother) with three Jewish grandparents. Interesting to note that Adam Levine did not have a bar mitzvah and his maternal grandmother is non-Jewish. He also isn't practicing Judaism and "has rejected formal religious practice..." Of course socially they are seen as Jews by Jews and non-Jews alike, but unless they converted to Judaism or their mothers did before they were conceived they are not Jewish under Jewish law. It's funny how some Jews will vehemently point out a "half-Jew" paternally is not Jewish, and since the father doesn't determine if you are Jewish, discount it in Rachael's case if we are playing by their rules. Rachael Weisz has a maternal grandmother who is not Jewish. A non-Jewish grandmother makes a non-Jewish mother. And so fourth. Not halachically Jewish.
"In some interviews, she identifies herself as Jewish. In another, she makes a point that only her father is."

That is hate! Why didn't you erase Anonymous 5 comments huh!?! And as for you Anonymous 5 you hateful bastard! I only hope that you have a hard and confronting life and always end up on the bottom rung being stepped on and spit on! You evil fuck! Go on erase this... But you know that I'm right. One rule for no set of rules and regulations and one rule for other with set of rules and regulations to sum up. If you're Jewish you can mock gentiles, if you're non-Jewish you can't mock the Jews!
